Please read through our Terms and conditions. When we groom your dog, you will need to sign our form which confirms that you have agreed to these terms and conditions below.
Policies
Cancellations, missed appointments and no shows:
Please ensure if cancelling an appointment, to give 48 hours notice prior to your booking. This allows me to be able to fill the slot with a new dog.
There will be a no-show fee which will be 50% of the dogs grooming charge to be paid prior to rebooking a new appointment, this includes the following reasons listed below:
· No show - no notice given prior to the appointment.
· Less than 48 hour’s notice – any less than this may not give the groomer enough time to refill the space.
If you are late to your appointment, the groomer will try to do as much as they can in the appointment time which means they may only be able to carry out a bath and tidy instead of a full groom. You will be charged for the service that you had originally booked before the appointment.
Your dog’s health:
By booking in with Paws4Effect, you have agreed that your dog is fit, healthy and their vaccinations are up to date. This will be checked on the day of the appointment.
If your dog starts to feel or look unwell during their groom, Paws4Effect will call you to collect your dog. If the groomer feels necessary, they will stop the groom immediately until following on from a check by the vets stating that it is okay to carry on with the groom. You will only be charged for the service that has been done at the time.
The owner agrees that the groomer is not responsible for any issues that may arise during the grooming process due to any pre-existing health conditions, whether the groomer has been made aware of these conditions or not.
Paws4Effect cannot accept pregnant bitches due to the high risks involved.
Behaviour:
If your dog attempts to bite the groomer, they will use a muzzle if necessary for your dogs, and the groomers safety. If your dog becomes too stressed or if there is any high risk of injury to your dog or the groomer, they will stop the grooming session and contact you to come to the salon and pick your dog up due to their behaviour.
Paws4Effect will always try to adapt to your dogs’ needs by taking extra time and patience if they are nervous and/or stressed. But If the groomer feels that the dog is becoming too stressed, they will contact the owner to pick them up and arrange a grooming plan going forward.
If your dog is too aggressive and must be sent home, the full grooming price will be charged, as unfortunately, that grooming slot cannot be filled by anyone else. If your dog is aggressive, the groomer will add extra time for the grooming process which will be carried out at an additional cost to cover the amount of time used.
Parasites:
If your dog has any fleas and/or ticks there will be a charge from £5 depending on how severe the infestation is. The fee will be for any extra time the groomer spends disinfesting the grooming salon to prevent the spread of the infestation to other clients’ dogs and to pay for the deflea supplies to eliminate them in the salon as well as for the shampoos that may be used on your dog to help with the severity of the infestation.
Matting:
If your dog comes into the salon with a matted coat, you will be required to fill out a matting consent form before their grooming session begins. There will be a matting fee starting from £10 on top of the original grooming price, which can vary depending on the breed of dog and how much they are matted.
The owner understands and agrees that during the de-matting process, removing matts can cause irritation and abrasions. The dog groomer will not be held responsible for this and will always put your dog’s needs and welfare first.
Collection and pick up times:
Please be aware that collection times may be extended due to the dog’s behaviour, de-matting requirements, parasites or simply that the coat may take longer to prep or to groom. There may be a charge if more than 30 additional minutes are required to finish the complete grooming session, however, the dog groomer will always try to inform you of any extra charges where possible.
Your dog must be picked up at the collection time given to you. If you are 15 minutes late to pick up your dog a £3 fee will begin to occur for every 5 minutes you take. Having other dogs in the salon takes away the one to one grooming service, and can distract other dogs during their appointment.
Toilets
Please allow extra time for your dog to go for a toilet before their grooming appointment. Unfortunately, we do not have the extra time to let your dog out to relieve themselves during their appointment. If they do relieve themselves during their groom, they may need to be re-bathed which would be carried out at an extra charge for the time and products used.
Please note we currently only accept CASH or BACS.
Thank you
